First Look At Star Trek Kre-O Figures

Next year, Hasbro will be making Star Trek toys, and one of those toy lines will be the Lego-like KRE-O Star Trek figures.

The toy line will launch in support of the May 2013 release of Star Trek 2.

“Hasbro and Star Trek have always been known as innovative brands,” said Liz Kalodner, Executive Vice President and General Manager of CBS Consumer Products. “Bringing them together in this new toy line will give fans of the entire Star Trek franchise new ways to experience the final frontier, including the first complete construction program.”

Star Trek is the third KRE-O entertainment line, following a Transformers and a Battleship line of KRE-Os.

This iPhone Case Helps You Measure The World

When someone says “augmented reality,” you start thinking of large obnoxious things like Google’s infamous goggles. everyone brings up Minority Report, and we all start talking about flying cars. but what if we started small? Let’s talk about iTapemeasure.iTapemeasure is a case for your iPhone 4 and 4S that has a built-in retractable measuring tape. as you extend the tape, the case actually sends the iPhone information about how far it was extended. not only does the companion app keep track of this information automatically for you, but it also allows you to visually represent the dimensions that you measured. Take a picture of your table, and then the app helps you overlay the pertinent information overtop. this will help you keep track of the space of everything you’re going to be working with. If you’re in the process of moving or redecorating, this case makes a ton of sense.this project has just started, so it isn’t very far along in the funding department. that said, the minimum funding goal isn’t far out of reach — all they need is $13,500 USD. If you want your very own iTapemeasure, you’re going to need to drop $135 USD for one case to be shipped in the US, or you can spend $160 USD for one case to be shipped internationally. What do you think? is this case worth the cash? Sound off by leaving a comment below this post. We love hearing your thoughts about these nerdy niche accessories.

The bill gives effect to changes affecting lone parent families announced in the Budget.

Minister Joan Burton announced last week that she wanted to postpone reductions in payments to such families until a proper childcare package is in place to enable lone parents return to work.

Concluding the debate, Minister Burton repeated that lone parents and their children still experienced high rates of poverty despite large Government expenditure in the area.

She said now was the time to change the system.

Fianna Fáil TD Dara Calleary called on the Government to put the bill on the long finger to prepare the necessary components on childcare for single parent families.

Earlier, there were objections in the Dáil to the guillotining of the second stage of the bill.

The Opposition said it was substantially different to the bill that was originated by the minister.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin said the amendments that had been put forward by the minister were not contemplated by the original bill.

He said such behaviour flew in the face of the Government's commitment to Dáil reform.

Sinn Féin's Aengus Ó Snodaigh said the changes to the bill were far-reaching and covered 12 areas, as opposed to the two areas covered by the original bill.

People before Profit's Richard Boyd Barrett said it was effectively a new bill.

He objected that members of the Technical Group were denied the chance to speak on it this evening and were therefore not getting a say on the bill.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny said most of the Dáil time over the next two days was being put aside to debate the Committee Stage.

The quirky, colourful world of Misery

For an artist who uses the moniker ‘Misery’, Tanya Jade smiles a lot.

Perhaps it’s because her work makes grown adults swoon and giggle like children watching their first ever cartoon.

Beginning her creative journey as a graffiti artist in new Zealand, Tanya’s work has leaped from the walls into almost every medium available – clothing, websites, tattoos, toys, cosmetics and canvases.

The stars aligned for a show at Bob’s Boutique in Bendigo, and the reaction to her work couldn’t be more positive.

“It’s really overwhelming. so many people here are grateful for my art. It makes me get goose bumps and have a little cry,” Tanya says.

The unique name for her work started long ago, and isn’t going anywhere whether she wants it or not.

“I’ve used that Misery name since I was 16 when I used to do a lot of graffiti and street art and it’s really stuck. I even tried to kill her, but everyone just recognises those images and links it with the word Misery, so I’m sort of stuck with it. Misery is my label whether I like it or not. I can’t escape it now.”

Just Take a Little Eyes on Religion (ISLAM)

Pillars of Islam

Islamic society is a society based on the principles of Islam. it has a stamp of teachings of the Quran and Sunnah. The thought and actions as well as beliefs and customs of its individuals are in accordance with Islamic principles. all rules and regulations of this society are framed in the light of the teachings of Islam and its individuals lead their lives in conformity with the Islamic code of conduct. Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) founded the Islamic society in Madina. this primitive Islamic society set examples of respect for humanity, coexistence, fraternity, equality and tolerance. When Islam spread to other countries the Islamic society was broadened. Wherever Muslims went they displayed social values of a high order and as a result Islamic society was distinguished from other societies. There are the five basic Pillars of Islam.

1 – Kalima
2 – Namaz
3 – Roza
4 – Zakat
5 – Hajj

La ILaha ILAllaho Muhammad Dur Rasool Lul Allah that is none has the right to be worshiped but Allah, and Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is the Messenger of Allah. it is called a Kalima of Muslims. no one has the right to be worshiped but Allah means Allah is one. to belief on Oneness of Allah (God) is the first and fundamental principle of Islam. it means that the creator and sovereign of this universe is Allah. He has no rival. He is the creator of all objects and He is not dependent on any one. every Muslim must acknowledge the Oneness of Allah and His supreme sovereignty and must follow His orders.

When a Muslim accepts the Oneness of Allah (God) and believes Him to be the creator and the Master of universe, he is bound to lead his life within the limits and principles prescribed by Allah and worship Him only. it also means that in the eyes of a Muslim all human beings are equal and there is no distinction based on race or colour. The dictates of Allah have been imposed on all human beings. The richer or the poor, all are equal before law. a virtuous and pious man has precedence over others before Allah.

Oneness of Allah (God) also means that only Allah is fit to be worshipped and all Muslims should observe the prayers and instructions prescribed for them.

Secondly, a Muslim must believe on the teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H). He is the last prophet of Allah with last religion known as Islam. every Muslim must follow his teachings called Sunnah.

Seven Important Things

There are the 7 things on which a Muslim must believe.

1 – believe on Allah
2 – believe on Messengers and Prophets of Allah.
3 – believe on Angels of Allah
4 – believe on books of Allah like Quran.
5 – believe on day of Qayamat (when everything is destroyed)
6 – believe on good or bad Taqdeer (Destiny)
7 – believe on Rising after being dead

Namaz is the first and foremost among the prayers of Muslims. every Muslim man and women is bound to offer Namaz. it is a pillar of Islam and a source if ascension for a true believer. Namaz prevents a Muslim from doing immoral and indecent acts.

Seven Conditions Before Praying Namaz

The body has to be clean.
The clothes has to be clean
The place of praying Namaz has to be clean
Satr-e-awrat (Covering the body)
It should be the time of praying Namaz
To ace the Qibla
To make the niyat (intention) for Namaz

Steps to make Namaz (Prayer) Better

Requisites of good Namaz suggested by Sufis are Twelve. The Sufis Islamic Scholars) write There are twelve thousand blessings in Namaz, which can be achieved through twelve principles. these steps are as follow.

1 – Knowledge: Our Nabi Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) has said that an action performed without knowledge is far inferior the one done with full knowledge about it. we should therefore know: (a) which of the Islamic practices are obligatory and which are Sunnah (done by Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H)). (b) what is obligatory and what is sunnah in wazu (a method that involves washing different parts of our body) and Namaz. (c) how does Shaytan (enemy of God) cause disturbance in the proper observance of Namaz.

2 – Wazu: we must try to: (a) clean our heart of jealousy and revenge, just as we wash other parts of our body. (b) keep ourselves clean of sins. (c) Be neither wasteful nor miserly in the use of water.

3 – Dress: it should be: (a) got through honest earning. (b) clean. (c) according to Sunnah, e.g. the ankles should not be covered. (d) Simple, and should not display vanity or pride and self importance.

4 – Time: we should be: (a) Able to tell correct time at any moment. (b) always watchful about Azan (Calling by man from Mosque for prayer). (c) particular about the time of Namaz, lest we should be too late for it.

5 – Facing the Direction of Kabba: There are three things to be ensured in facing the direction of Kabba (Situated at Makkah, Saudi Arabia): (a) we must face the direction of Kabba physically. (b) Have the heart in union with Allah (God), for He is the direction of the Kabba of the Heart. (c) Be as attentive as a slave is before his Master.

6 – Intention: for this we need to be particular about three things: (a) we must be definite as to what Namaz we are offering. (b) Remain constantly conscious of our presence before Allah (god) who sees us. (c) Have perfect faith that Allah (God) knows all that is in our hearts.

7 – The first Allah u Akbar by which one starts Namaz: The essential of the first Allah u Akbar by which one starts Namaz are: (a) to pronounce the words correctly. (b) to raise both hands up to the ears. this signifies that we have cut off our connection with all, except Allah (God). (c) to feel the Greatness of Allah (God) in our heart when we say Allah u Akbar.

8 – Qiyam (Standing and reciting the Quran in Namaz): while in Qayam we should: (a) keep our gaze at the place of sajda (Particular place in ground where we put our forehead). (b) Feel in our heart that we are standing before Allah (God). (c) not attend to anything else. Looking here and there is like a person who after reaching the presence of a king, then starts to look right and left when the king is attending to him.

9 – Recitation of the Quran: The essential of reciting the Quran are: (a) to recite the Quran with correct pronunciation. (b) to ponder on the meanings of what we recite. (c) to bind ourselves to obey what we recite.

10 – Ruku: The essential of ruku are: (a) to keep the back quite straight i.e. the whole body above the legs should be in one horizontal line. (b) to hold the knees firmly with fingers spread apart. (c) to recite subhana rabbiyal- azim with dignity and keep in mind the greatness of Allah (God).

11 – Sajda: The essential of Sajda are: (a) to place the hands flat and close to the ears. (b) to keep the elbows raised above the ground. (c) to recite Subhana rabbiyal ala with devotion.

12 – Qadah (sitting between the two sajdas): The essential of qadah are: (a) to sit upon the left foot, keeping the right one vertical. (b) to recite tashahhud with devotion, keeping the meaning in mind, for it contains greetings for the Hazrat Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and dua (pray) for the Muslim brethren. (c) to make intention for salam to the angels as well as the people on the right and on the left.

As sincerity is the essence of all these points, which requires us: 1. to offer Namaz with the sole purpose of pleasing Allah (God). 2. to understand that is only through the favour of Allah (God) that we are able to offer Namaz. 3. to hope for the reward promised by Allah (God).

Fasting is also important prayer. Allah says in the Holy Quran O believers, you are enjoined to keep fast, as the people before you were enjoined similarly, so that you may become pious

Therefore it is necessary for every Muslim (man and women) to keep fast in the month of Ramadan (Holy Month). There are 30 Roza’s (fast) in a year. and a man after 14 and women after 9 must take a fast.

Zakat is also a basic principle of Islamic way of life. in the Quran and Hadith, the payment of Zakat as been made compulsory for every Sahib-e-Nisab (a person having a money).

Allah says: and be steadfast in prayer, practice regular Zakat and Bow down Your heads with those who down

The Holy prophet says a person who believes in Allah and his prophet should pay zakat out of his goods and wealth.

The Messenger of Allah( peace be upon Him ) said: Islam has been built on five pillars, Testifying that there is no God but Allah and Mohammed is the messenger of Allah, performing the prayers, paying the Zakat, making, the pilgrimage to the house of Allah, and fasting Ramadan

( Buhkary and Muslim )

The income from Zakat is spent on the poor, the helpless and the needy. every Sahib-e-Nisab person must pay 2.5% of his useless earnings as Zakat to a poor and needy persons. Zakat should be paid to following persons.

1- The poor
2- The needy people
3- those employed to administer the funds
4- those whose hearts has been recently reconciled to truth
5- those in Bondage
6- those in Debt
7- in the cause of Allah
8- The wayfarers

Haj is also an important principle of Islam and a great prayer. it is compulsory for every adult, sane and affording Muslim. on the occasion of Haj, Muslims from all over the world perform this duty at Baitullah, Arafat and other places in Saudi Arabia. besides Haj, Jehad also has great significance. Jehad means that financial and physical sacrifice which is made for the protection and promotion of Islam.

Commercial truck sales and repair center taking shape in Tolleson

PHOENIX — Freightliner of Arizona in Tolleson is a one-stop commercial-truck sales and repair facility that is expected to anchor a new commercial-truck center.

The 184,000-square-foot Freightliner facility, with 200 employees, can fill virtually any trucking or RV need, said Damon Cuzick, a contractor and project manager of the facility.

Just as Avondale has Avondale Auto Mall down the street, Tolleson could have the Tolleson Commercial Truck Center, a facility that Danny Cuzick, Damon’s father, wants to create.

Those plans are moving along. Peterbilt rush Truck Center, another trucking company, plans to open a facility where the former Freightliner facility was. another truck dealership may locate in the area as well, but it is premature to say which dealership that would be, said Danny, a 53-year-old Glendale resident.

“So what our hopes are is that we become a commercial-truck destination,” he said.

There are five major commercial-truck companies, and assuming a third comes to the area, three of the big five will be in the commercial-truck complex, said Damon, 31, of Litchfield Park.

Freightliner sells commercial vehicles, including new and used semi-trucks, refuse trucks and recreation vehicles. it sells parts and performs repairs. it also has a body shop.

“We try not to turn anything away,” Damon said. “There isn’t anything we can’t do. from (diagnostics) to frame-straightening to alignments, you name it. We do overhauls. Frankly, that’s why a lot of people come to us. They don’t have to go to several places. We do it all.”

On Feb. 1, Freightliner opened the facility at 9899 W. Roosevelt St., which is on the eastern side of 99th Avenue south of the Interstate 10-Loop 101 junction.

On Tuesday, hundreds of semi-trucks, recreational vehicles, fire trucks and other big trucks sat on the 29 acres that make up the commercial-truck facility.

Lined up in various states of repair or awaiting repair or servicing were fire trucks from Tolleson, Peoria, El Mirage, Salt River, Harquahala, Puerco Valley and Peeples Valley.

And there were commercial trucks of various sizes from such companies as FedEx, Coca-Cola co. and Frito-Lay.

Freightliner owns 40 acres, leaving it room to expand and to add a solar field, Danny said.

Danny owns Freightliner facilities in Tolleson, Tucson, Chandler and Flagstaff.

“We’re really a commercial-truck business,” Danny said. “We sell fire trucks. We sell street sweepers to 18-wheelers, the over-the-road trucks. We sell RVs — 80 percent of the RVs in today’s world are built on Freightliner chassis. so we do a lot of service and repair work on RVs.”

With service, parts and sales in one building, "that really helps from a synergistic standpoint," Damon said. "The parts guys and the salesmen can send customers back and forth. The service people can get their parts easily. everybody is working together in one building. from an efficiency standpoint in the business , it’s helped."

Danny moved the Tolleson facility from its former location half a block to the east so that it could abut 99th Avenue near the I-10 interchange.

“When they put in the overpass here, the 101, it didn’t align quite the way we had hoped. it kind of hid our location, but this facility puts us right out here on the street,” he said. “It gives us the needed close proximity to the truck stop right across the street. We still have freeway visibility.”

A Pilot Travel Center is across the street to the west.

The Freightliner facility has an RV park with water, electricity, canopies and barbecue grills. it also has a dog park.

“You would be surprised at the number of RVers and even truckers that come in with dogs,” Damon said. “They are over-the-road guys. They’re on the road all the time, and they have dogs.”

Freightliner has lounges for RV customers and commercial truckers.

Damon said the Freightliner facility was designed to be energy-efficient.

“We use a ton of electricity, and we wanted to be more responsible and for cost savings, obviously. We wanted to reduce our power bill,” he said.

Water reservoirs help keep the air cool, and 20-foot-long blades on the ceiling fans move the air, significantly lowering air conditioning costs.

“We wanted to be able to cool the facility, the shop and the warehouse without the air conditioner but still be able to keep the same ambient temperature as we would be able to if we had an air conditioner going,” Damon said.

The roof has additional insulation, and the windows are highly reflective.

“We tied this energy efficiency to the flow of the buildings,” Damon said. “In our previous facility, we were in separate buildings. everything was separated. This facility, we brought everything into one building. That’s why it looks so much bigger than the other place. Really, the square footage is about the same.”

With service, parts and sales in one building, “that really helps from a synergistic standpoint,” Damon said. “The parts guys and the salesmen can send customers back and forth. The service people can get their parts easily. everybody is working together in one building. from an efficiency standpoint in the business, it’s helped.”

Tolleson Mayor Adolfo Gámez said the truck center will be good for his city and makes sense in that corridor.

“It’s going to be positive for us,” Gámez said. “It looks really nice there. it looks like a dealership, but they’re not selling cars, they’re selling trucks.”
